I am directed by Earl Grey to transmit to you the copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong forwarding Application from the Clerical Surgeon for increase of Salary.

Leve. Gray suggests that the Commissioners of the Treasury will state to the Lords Commissioners that the increased duties imposed upon the Colonial Surgeon, which limit his opportunities for private practise, and entail Expense upon him justify an increase of his Salary as Colonial Surgeon, and afflying for the same.
